WE ARE SORRY, BUT THE BANADAD TRAIL ASSOCIATION IS NOT ABLE TO RUN THE YURT TO YURT PROGRAM FOR THE 2022/2023 WINTER SEASON. THE ASSOCIATION HOPES TO HAVE THE SECOND YURT SET UP FOR NEXT WINTER SEASON SO THE PROGRAM CAN CONTINUE FOR THE 2023/2024 SEASON. THANK YOU.

Ski the Boundary Waters'(BWCA) longest tracked cross country ski trail — the Banadad Ski Trail, and some shorter loop trails located on the eastern end of the Banadad. Poplar Creek Guesthouse is also located on the eastern end of the Banadad ski trail. **Recently we acquired the use of an INREACH tracking system to enable us and you to keep in touch while skiing the entire length of the Banadad ski trail. In the event of an emergency, this allows communication to our office.

For centuries, the people of the Mongolian plateau have found yurts to be comfortable, convivial dwellings. These round, peaked-roofed, canvas-covered huts are warm and cozy. Croft yurt comes equipped with a wood-fired heating stove, dishes and utensils, pots and pans, LP gas cook stove with oven, prep area, dining area and bunk beds. You bring your own sleeping bag and towels. An outhouse is nearby. While you ski the Banadad, your gear and food are transported for you and your car is shuttled to the end of the trail.

We hope that next winter season that the yurt will be available starting early to mid January, usually through March. Please call us for weekend openings. The calendars do not indicate the openings.

Housekeeping / two nights.

Includes one night at Croft yurt and one night in a room at Poplar Creek Guesthouse. Includes gear and food transfer and car shuttle. You provide your own meals, sleeing bag and towels at the yurt. Linens and towels provided at the guesthouse. BTA Associate membership will be added.

Arrive by noon, check in and leave your gear with us. Drive 14 miles in your vehicle to western trailhead. Your vehicle is shuttled back to Guesthouse parking lot by staff. Ski 12 km to the Croft yurt. Next day ski 19 km to Poplar Creek Guesthouse for your second night. If you arrrive mid afternoon, there is not enough time to ski to the yurt, because of short daylight hours.

Arrive midafternoon and Poplar Creek Guesthouse is your first night. Next day ski 19 km to the Croft yurt. We shuttle your vehicle to the Western trailhead for you. Then you drive back to Poplar Creek Guesthouse parking lot and pick up your gear.
