Include in your two night stay in Dorothy's room at Poplar Creek Guesthouse, the delightful experience of a horse drawn sleigh ride. This private sleigh ride for two is offered in the evenings so you may enjoy the crystal clear view of starry skies and maybe the aurora borealis (the "Northern Lights").

Mark and Nancy Patten's two Belgium horses pull the sleigh along a lantern lit trail, inevitably make a lingering stop at the ever-popular "kissin' tree." The three-quarters of an hour ride ends with homemade hot chocolate served from a wood cookstove in the warmth of the Patten's century old log home.

Rate: Two nights lodging at Poplar Creek Guesthouse B&B in Dorothy's room and private sleigh ride - $325 plus taxes per couple.

This winter, spend two nights at the Bed and Breakfast Guesthouse and take in Boundary Country Trekking's acclaimed Mongolian Firepot Dinner, a delicious fondue of vegetables and meats cooked in a savory charcoal heated broth, served with Oriental condiments over rice.

The dinner is served at the Tall Pines Yurt. The Yurt is located a short distance from a parking area. You can walk or ski in. Firepot Dinner is available for minimum of four persons.

Package includes two nights lodging in available rooms of choice in Bed and Breakfast for four or more people and the Mongolian Firepot Dinner.

Rate: $185/person plus taxes.

One or two persons per sled, plus driver

First night in Dorothy's room at Poplar Creek Guesthouse. Following breakfast the next morning, you drive a short distance to a nearby resort. You receive an introduction to mushing, then travel eastward towards the Boundary Waters Wilderness. Actual distacne covered depends on snow conditions, but the experience lasts about an hour and a half and you travel between 3 to 6 miles. Following your mushing adventure, you return to Poplar Creek Guesthouse for your last night.
