Overlook area to Devil Track River crossing and hike on
canyon edge. Dramatic views into the river canyon.
Cook County Road 58 to Cook County Road 14 (6.8 miles)
Many creeks, a unique high, wet area with over two dozen
footbridges. Red Oak and Black Spruce are unusual trees on
this section.
Cook County Road 14 to Kadunce River Wayside (2.4 miles)
Trail passes through rocky area to Crow Creek. Steep
canyon to west fork of Kadunce River spur, which follows
river to Highway 61. Or stay on Trail to Lakewalk another 2.5
miles.
Kadunce River to Judge C.R. Magney State Park (10 miles)
Spur trail along the river's edge for .7 miles. Then
through forests and back to Lake Superior for 1 mile Lakewalk
on pebble beach. Passes through many different stages of
succession following logging in the area. Cedar, White Pine,
overlooks of waterfalls and pools. Add another 2 miles (hike
up and back only) by hiking the eastern side of Brule River
for views of falls and Devil's Kettle.
