Gunflint Canoe Races Scheduled
The Gunflint annual Canoe Races will be held Wednesday, July 19 at Gunflint lodgeWaterfront. The event will include kids fun, canoe rides and golf beginning at 4:00PM, the food and beverage stand opens at 4:30. The canoe events begin at 6:00 with the Long Distance, followed by traditional races and "gunnel pumping." Race class include; youth, youth and adult, men, woman, mixed and seniors over 60. Races are open to all interested paddlers. Also planned is a raffle for Northwood crafts and paintings and a special grand prize of a Wenonah Prospector Royalex Canoe. All proceess from this event go to the Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department.
